Las Vegas Rescue Mission

Welcome to THE Las Vegas Rescue Mission

Hope grows from vision

Contact: 480 West Bonanza Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89106 Phone: (702) 382-1766

Founded in 1970, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission (LVRM) started with a small storefront building that included the chapel, kitchen and a shelter that could house a few men. Today, LVRM campus takes up two city blocks in downtown Las Vegas, helping hundreds of men, women and their children daily, and provides approximately 30,000 meals each month.

Our Mission

To serve those in need through food, shelter, daily needs and addiction recovery, offering hope to individuals and families through Jesus Christ.

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission provides services without regard to race, color, national origin or ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital or domestic partnership status, gender, gender identity or expression, physical or mental disability, genetic information, or veteran status, in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

LVRM was founded in 1970 by a pastor and six businessmen who had a calling to help those who were homeless and hungry. Together, they secured a tiny storefront at 414 West Bonanza Road. By God’s grace, they provided sandwiches and drinks, along with mats and blankets for men to eat and sleep away from the elements.

LVRM is more than just a shelter; we stand as a beacon of hope. We continue to adapt to meet the needs of men, women and their children in an ever-changing society. Through effective, innovative Christian recovery programs, the Mission provides a path for those who want to escape the despair of the streets.

The Need: Self-sufficiency…a primary goal for most of us. The Salvation Army’s Lied Transitional Housing Program provides the final step toward self-sufficiency for many of our clients. The program provides an opportunity for individuals to develop life skills, personal structure and confidence.

How It Works: While living in one of 69 apartments located on the Owens Campus, clients are provided case management and educational opportunities to learn personal finance and other skills which they put into practice in a semi-structured environment.

Many clients have recently begun a new job and this program allows them to put in place habits that will create self-sufficiency. Clients can remain in an apartment for up to 12 months which allows them to save enough money to step into a more permanent solution on their own at the end of their stay with The Salvation Army

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered program with foundations firmly established in Biblical truth. The 12 Steps with accompanying Scriptures and the 8 Principles based on the Beatitudes offer participants a clear path of salvation and discipleship; bringing hope, freedom, sobriety, healing, and the opportunity to give back one day at a time through our one and only true Higher Power, Jesus Christ.

The 12 Steps and the 8 Principles work seamlessly together, tying historical recovery to timeless Biblical teaching.
