Committed to Transparency, Inclusivity, and Community Collaboration in Policymaking

Adult Education provides services to assist adults to obtain the skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency. Adult Education programs target adults who lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable them to function effectively on the job, in the family and in society; or do not have a secondary school diploma or its equivalent level of education; or are unable to speak, read, or write the English language.

Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language (ABE/ESL) programs provide literacy services as well as civics education in community and faith-based organizations and in community colleges throughout the State. Adult High School Programs (AHSP) are offered in 14 of the 17 school districts in Nevada and also in Department of Corrections facilities.
